I am a foreman employed by the Hop Cheung
Army Contractors firm. I live at 13 Ship Street 2nd floor. On
the afternoon of 22nd June I was repairing a pipe in the side
of a nullah which runs past Murray Barracks. I had seven
workmen besides myself. I was standing about five feet from the
nullah below the bridge where the sentry is. There were four
men standing in the nullah of whom Yung Sou was one. Some thing
after three p.m. while we were still working I saw a Briti sh
soldier, just. above where I was, pointing with a stick. I
looked in that direction and saw a boy being washed down the
nullah
a uropean child. I told Young Sou to pick up the
boy. I saw Yung Sou washed down. I ran down then to Murray
I saw Yung Sou bring somebody back a boy. Later
on I saw several more also washed down the nullah. I could not
see who they were as they were being washed down in a group.
This was as Yung Sou was bringing the boy back. I took him and
went with him to Block 5 B Kennedy Road. I don't know his name

where I was. Last witness told me to pick up something from
the water. Then I saw a uropean boy being washed down alone,
